Summary
This article explains how to modify menu items, display hidden columns in OfficeMate, and update the menu in WaiterMate. Changes to menu items can be made for various reasons, and configuring them in OfficeMate allows for better control over menu choices while reducing the need for higher level authorisation.
Step 1 - Searching for Items
1. Open the 'Items" screen from the navigation panel.
2. Use the available fields and drop-down menus to refine the displayed information.
Step 2 - Modifications for Menu items
- Tick 'Show Extended View' on the right-hand side of the screen.
- Additional columns will appear, which can be modified by selecting each field.
- Scroll horizontally to access more fields, including:
- Short Name: Replaces the item's Name on prep dockets.
- Minuses: Allows removable ingredients to be set. These appear in the modifier screen in WaiterMate, reducing the item's price if a cost is assigned.
- System State: Controls whether an item is hidden in WaiterMate.
- Recipe: Enables adding a recipe, which can be accessed in the modifier screen or printed.
- Plus Group: Attaches the item to a single plus group (See Creating Pluses for more details).
- Default Adds: Automatically includes specific plus group items unless manually removed.
- Option Groups: Attaches multiple option groups to an item, triggering a pop-up when ordered.
- Default Options: Pre-selects certain options within an attached option group.
- Option Price: Requires manual price entry when ordering the item in WaiterMate.
- Auto Item Note: Prompts a keyboard to enter a note that appears on the prep docket.
- Icon: Displays an image instead of text by pasting a file path.

To manually download menu changes:
- Log into WaiterMate.
- Select 'System Admin' from the bottom right-hand corner.
- Select the 'System' tab.
- Choose 'Download Menu'
Alternatively:
Menu changes will download automatically when a user logs out of the ordering screen.
