How to create a discount in OfficeMate
- Open OfficeMate and navigate to the 'Discounts' section.
- Choose either a Dollar Amount Discount or Percentage mount Discount from the drop-down menu.
- Select the 'New' icon to create a discount. Each discount will appear on it's own line and can be edited directly from this screen by selecting the relevant field.
What are the different options for discounts I can use?
You can customise your discount with the following options.
Label
- Enter a name in the 'Label' field. this name will be displayed on the discount button and tax invoice.
- Each discount will be reported separately based on its name.
Percentage/Dollar Amount
- Set the specific amount for the discount.
Cap Amount (For Percentage Discounts Only)
- A dollar cap can be placed on percentage discounts to prevent exceeding a set limit.
- For example, a 50% discount with a $40 cap ensures no more than $40 is discounted, even if 50% would exceed that amount.
Level
- Discounts can apply at different levels:
- Item Level: Only applies to specific items.
- Account Level: Applies to the total bill.
- All: Can be applied at both levels.
Trigger Activation Strategy
- When multiple triggers are linked to a discount, this setting determines whether all or just one of them must be met for the discount to apply.
Triggers
- A Trigger can restrict a discount to certain conditions (see Setting Up Triggers).
Automatic
- Selecting Automatic will apply the discount when trigger conditions are met.
- Important: If the only trigger is the 'Default' trigger, the discount will always be active.
Displayable
- When selected, the discount will be displayed on the tax invoice.
Open Price
- Allows manual entry of a discount amount when applying it
Sequence
- Determines order in which discounts appear in WaiterMate screen.
Show Colours
- Discounts can be colour-coded in WaiterMate by selecting the Show Colours option and choosing a colour.
