How to change the network connection on a Yomani or Yoximo terminal

This article will explain:

  • The different network connection methods on a Yoximo or Yomani Tyro terminal
  • How to switch between the network connections

Yomani and Yoximo terminals have 2 ways to connect to the internet, which is needed to be able to process transactions. If the terminal is having connection issues, eg if the terminal is saying "Sign on Failed" and to contact Tyro, you can try switching to the second connection method to continue to process transactions.

Step 1 - Switching to 3G

  1. Select Menu
  2. Select Network and Diagnostics
  3. Select Network Connection
  4. Select 3G
  5. This will cause the terminal to try connecting to the internet by using the Telstra sim card in the base of the machine. It will initially display "Sign on Failed" on the screen, but the terminal should try reconnecting after a few seconds and attempt to sign on again. If the terminal has your Trading Name displayed on the screen that means it has connected and is able to process transactions.

Step 2 - Switching to Local Connection

  1. Select Menu
  2. Select Network and Diagnostics
  3. Select Network Connection
  4. Select Ethernet or WiFi - If you have a desktop Yomani terminal you will only have the option to select Ethernet, and on Yoximo you will only have the option to select WiFi
  5. If you have not connected to WiFi previously on the terminal, you will need to setup the connection. The steps to do that can be found in the following article: How to setup WiFi network on a Terminal
