Summary
This article will explain how to make a payment to a debtor account and how to process an electronic transfer payment.
While all accounts should typically be closed by the end of each trading day, the debtor module allows sales to be stored and settled later. Payments can also be applied to a debtor account in advance, creating a credit balance that can be used for future transactions.

How to make a payment to a debtor account
Note: Payments made to a debtor account are recorded as part of the takings for the day the payment was processed.
- Login to WaiterMate and go to the Debtors tab and select the relevant debtor. Use the search fields to find the debtor by name, customer, or date if needed.
- Select the ‘Pay’ icon at the bottom right of the screen
- Choose the Payment Method (Cash, Card etc.). The 'Paid' amount will automatically match the debtor's balance.
- Adjust the 'Paid' amount if needed by typing the correct value into the 'Paid' Box.
- Click 'OK' then select 'Save' to finish.
How to process an electronic transfer payment
If the customer has paid via electronic transfer directly into your bank account, you can record the payment in WaiterMate for accurate tracking.
- When it's time to pay, select the 'Pay' button.
- Select ‘Debit’ and click on ‘Internet Prepayment’ as the method.
- Enter the amount received in the 'Paid' field.
- Click 'Save' to complete the transaction.
Note:
- Debtors with a $0 Balance are not automatically deleted in WaiterMate
- To delete a debtor, confirm the balance is $0, then delete the account from the Debtors page in OfficeMate
