EFTPOS Warning

Summary

This article explains the reasons for EFTPOS warnings and provides guidance on what to do if a warning appears. By understanding these warnings and following the recommended steps, you can ensure seamless payment processing.

Why does this happen?

Occasionally, EFTPOS providers update the way they communicate with the OrderMate system. To prevent these changes from causing issues, OrderMate includes a warning screen that prompts users to manually 'Accept' or Decline' any unrecognised transactions.

What should I do if this happens?

When this warning appears, staff should carefully read the message and check the EFTPOS terminal for the payment status. The terminal will indicate whether the payment was ‘Approved’ or ‘Declined.’ Staff must select the matching option on the WaiterMate warning screen.

Choosing the wrong option can result in tills not balancing, so it's essential to ensure the payment status on the terminal aligns with the selection in WaiterMate. Proper attention will help maintain accurate records and avoid reconciliation issues.
