Creating/Editing your Table Floor Plan

Summary

This article explains how to add new tables to your floor plan, edit table icons, move and delete tables, create a new section, and save your work in WaiterMate. 

The Table Floor Plan feature in OrderMate helps visualise your venue by displaying the layout of tables, useful for managing table accounts. The 'Table Account' is typically used for  'à la carte'  service, allowing orders to be placed on a table without immediate payment. Multiple items or orders can be added to a table account. 

Step 1 - Accessing the Table Setup Screen

  1. Log into WaiterMate.
  2. Select 'System Admin'. 
    'Rearrange Tables' Allows moving, joining and splitting of existing tables on the floorplan. 
  3. From the top screen, make sure 'Daily Tasks' is selected.
  4. Select the 'Table Setup' icon.

Step 2 - Add New Table Icons

  1. Select the 'Add' icon from the panel on the right hand side of the screen.
  2. Select the desired table icon.
  3. Place the icon on the floor plan by pressing the screen roughly where it needs to be positioned.
  4. Continue adding the same table icon until all the desired tables are placed. 
  5. if desired, repeat these steps with other icons to position different tables. .

 

Step 3 - Editing your Table Icons

  1. Select the 'Edit' icon from the panel on the right hand side of the screen to open the 'Edit' dialog box.
  2. Select the keyboard icon and enter the table name using the Keypad 
  3. If necessary, Select the Can Order to Table icon to set the table's order status.  (Sometimes it is useful to add points of reference such as the bar or entrance but not allow the staff to order to this icon).
  4. To change the icon, select the 'Change Table icon' image.
  5. Select 'Ok' to save the changes.

Handy Hint: If you are using Tyro 'Pay at table' EFTPOS, table icons can only be represented by a number.

 

Step 4 - Moving Table Icons

  1. Select the 'Move' icon from the panel on the right-hand side of the screen.
  2. Choose the desired table from the floor plan and drag it into the desired position.

Handy Hint: if 'Lock to grid' is selected, it will be easier to align the tables. 

Step 5 - Deleting your Tables

  1. Select the 'Delete' icon from the panel on the right hand side of the screen.
  2. Select any table icons on the floor plan that need to be removed. 
    Note: Tables with active orders cannot be deleted. 

Step 6 - Joining Tables

  1. To join two tables together, select the 'Join' icon from the right-hand side of the screen
  2. Draw a line between the two tables you wish to join (you can only join two tables at a time). 
  3. The first table you select will go grey and both tables will have a colour outline to signify they are joined

Handy Hint: To customise the colour of the join lines, select the 'Palette' button on the lower left corner of the screen. A list of colour palettes will pop up. Select the option that suits you the best and press ok. 

Step 7 - Splitting joined tables

  1. to split tables you have previously joined, select 'Split' on the right-hand side of the screen 
  2. Select all tables with grey numbers to split joined tables

Step 8 - Adding a New Section to the Floor Plan

  1. From the middle section of the panel on the right, select the corresponding icon to add, edit, or delete sections.
  2. To edit a section, select the Edit  icon to open the Edit Section dialog box
  3. New sections will appear at the bottom of the screen and can have separate table layouts. 

 

Step 9 - Saving the Floor Plan

  1. Saving the floor plan from the panel on the lower right-hand side of the screen with 'Reset daily' turned on will ensure that this floor plan becomes the default floor plan. i.e. while this function is turned on any edits made to the floorplan will revert to the original the next day.

    Please note: 

    If you see Table Sections starting with the section name and ending with HH, these are online tables typically being used for Order & Pay @ Table solutions, such as HungryHungry integration / Doshii / Deliverect etc

    OrderMate will typically mass duplicate all sections and tables on initial 3rd party integration, however the venue operators will need to manage any additional tables / sections in future and communication with the 3rd parties to import accordingly.
