What is the COGS Report?
The COGS (cost of goods) Report is one of the reports included with the Stock Control Module. It is used to look at in-depth sales and costing information for Menu Items and Sections.
This report looks at purchase costs, and will only be effective with accurate Purchase Costs.

How to Generate the Report
The "COGS" report can be found in OfficeMate under the 'Reports' section.
- Navigate to the "COGS" report using by typing the report name into the search field on the navigation panel of OfficeMate.
At the top of the page, there are a few filter selections that you can make depending on what data the report needs to display.
- The checkbox marked "Group Results" will consolidate all the sales items into 1 list if unchecked, and will group items by Menu Section if checked.
3. Just above Group Results, you are able to show the Menu Items that have not been sold in the date and time period by checking the "Show Unsold" checkbox. This will display every menu item in the system, even if it's sale value is 0.
4. Set a specific Menu Section to filter by selecting it from the list on the left of the report.
5. If Shifts and Profiles have been configured, select the correct menu and which shifts need to be viewed. viewed.
6. Enter a Date and Time range for the report, click the green check button to load the data.
How to Read the Report
Once the report has been filtered, it's results will be displayed across several columns as below.
The report will load with a list of Menu Items, with a totalling line at the bottom of the page. The text in bold indicates the menu section that the Menu Items belong to.

QTY Sold |
The total number of times that Menu Item has been ordered |
Size |
Each size of each item that has been sold, separated on different lines. |
Price Level |
The price level that the item has been sold at, separated on different lines |
Portion |
If the item has a different portion (ie Pizza), they will display on separate lines |
Estimated Cost |
The total estimated cost of the Stock Item that is linked to the Menu Item |
Sales |
The total sales accrued for the Menu Item |
Sales (ex GST) |
The total sales accrued for the Menu Item, excluding the GST component. |
Gross Profit % |
The gross profit is calculated from the Cost (from the stock item) and the Sale (from the menu item) this column is calculated in a percentage |
Gross Profit $ |
The gross profit is calculated from the same values as above, but is presented as a dollar figure. |

How to generate a PDF of the COGS Report
- Click on the "COGS Report" tab to generate a PDF of the data.
