What is the Sales by Area Report?
The "Sales by Area" Report is one of the reports included with the Stock Control Module. It is used to look at the category sales, costs, and gross profits of items sold. It also includes costs accrued from Invoices, Adjustments and Wastages.
This report looks at purchase costs and Gross Profits, and is typically used in conjunction with a Multi-Area Stock License.
How to generate the report
The 'Sales by Area' report can be found in OfficeMate under the 'Reports' section.
Navigate to the 'Sales by Area' report using by typing the report name into the search field on the navigation panel of OfficeMate.
At the top of the page, there are a few filter selections that you can make depending on what data the report needs to display.
The checkbox marked "Group Results" will consolidate all the sales items into 1 list if unchecked, and will group items by Stock Area if checked.
Unchecking "Entire Trading Day" will allow to you filter the report by time, as well as the date.
After you have entered a filter adjustment, check the green check button, and then the refresh button.
How to read the report
Once the report has been filtered, it's results will be displayed across several columns (The example below has Group Results turned on)
The report has displayed each Stock Area under the bold title, as well as a TOTALS line with both Stock Areas added together.
Each category has been given it's own line beneath the stock area, and each column reports on a separate part of the Sales and Stock Cost.

This is the Category assigned to each menu item, and serves as a group for the sales report. Invoice Fees, Adjustments and Wastage's are also displayed here, although they do not report on sales amounts, only costs. |
Sales |
The total sales calculated from all the items sold for that category. |
Sales (Ex GST) |
The total sales calculated from all the items sold for that category, excluding GST. |
Est. Cost |
The estimated cost of the Stock Items that have linked to Menu Items, for each sales Category. |
GP |
The gross profit of the category using the Sales and Cost values. |
GP % |
The gross profit of the category, represented by a percentage. |
Once complete, you are able to print this report to a physical printer connected to your computer, or save it to a PDF.
