The Item GP Report is one of the reports included with the Stock Control Module. It is used to look at the Gross Profit (GP) of an item's sales in the system.
Note: This report looks at purchase costs, and will only be effective with accurate Purchase Costs. Click here for Setting Up a Stock Item
Step 1 - Generating the Report
The 'Item GP' report can be found in OfficeMate under the 'Reports' section.
Navigate to the 'Item GP' report using by typing the report name into the search field on the navigation panel of OfficeMate.
Step 2 - Using Filters and Options
At the top of the page, there are a few filter selections that you can make depending on what data the report needs to display.
The checkbox marked "Group Results" will consolidate all the sales items into 1 list if unchecked, and will group items by Menu Section if checked.
When "Group Results" is unchecked, you will be able to filter this list by it's Gross Profit Percentage by entering the amount in the box to the right of the screen.
You can also set a specific Menu Section to filter by selecting it from the list on the left of the report.
After you have entered a filter adjustment, click the refresh button.
Step 2 - Reading the Report
Once the report has been filtered, it's results will be displayed across several columns (As shown below)
|Group||The Menu Section that the item is sold from within WaiterMate|
|Name||The label of the item that has been sold|
|Size||Each size of each item that has been sold, separated on different lines.|
|Price Level||The price level that the item has been sold at, separated on different lines|
|Portion||If the item has a different portion (ie Pizza), they will display on separate lines|
|Estimated Cost Inc (GST)||Cost of the item inclusive of GST|
|Estimated Cost Ex (GST)||Cost of the item exclusive of GST|
|Sales||The total sales accrued for this particular item|
|Gross Profit %||The gross profit is calculated from the Cost (from the stock item) and the Sale (from the menu item) this column is calculated in a percentage|
|Gross Profit $||The gross profit is calculated from the same values as above, but is presented as a dollar figure.|
Tip: If you are looking for an item in your list, you can select the magnifying glass on the right to do a quick search!
Once complete, you are able to print this report to a physical printer connected to your computer, or save it to a PDF.
